hey when putting radiators back on after decorating for an open vented central heating system is it best to turn the boiler of before you put the radiator on and fill it or wil the boiler be ok left on?

Ok i just wonderd has it can be a struggle to light is an old boiler thanks for your quick response. Why would you say off could it damage the boiler if left on?
