Hi folks,

had a look and cant really find an answer:

I'm about to skim my hall walls with multicoat, I've removed wooden panelling and replaced it with plasterboard. The upper section of the wall remains as painted plaster, the lower being the new plasterboard.

Should I use a PVA solution on both parts, and if so at what dilution? Do I need to use different dilutions for each part?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

4-1 water/pva on the plastered wall 24 hours before and once again before u start plastering waiting for it to get tacky before you start. plaster board don't need pva'ing. Would tape up the joint where the board meets the plaster to avoid cracking.

Might be a good idea to scratch the painted wall up a bit to give it a key.
