Does anyone know what's usually under the PVC boarding ? Is it usually baton'd or could it of been fixed direct to brickwork? Just after some info before I even start thinking about getting any ideas. Thinking of doing away with balcony and extending bedroom outwards and just having a single window as the wind is horrendous and balcony is a waste of space as theirs not enough room to swing a cat.
Fwiw; It's an old pic off right move as its dark and can't really get a better picture

It looks as though the house is of a specialised construction. The side walls are the only brickwork, every thing else is wood and hung of the side walls. Check this by thumping the wall under the window from the inside and comparing this to a brick side wall. If it is of this construction, then everything will be wood. Look carefully at what is supporting your roof, there should be a steel lintel from side to side somewhere, this has to stay.
