Pvc ceiling panels

I need to remove my pvc ceiling panels as I'm having tiling done will they be easily removed or will the plasterboard underneath end up damaged they where put up with silicone and screws or will I need to pay someone to do this

Depends.
We stick up plastic with mastic so that could be difficult to remove.
Probably need ceiling skimming after, although worse cause you would need to replace ceiling plasterboard.
So who knows.

Yeah I do need to ask I am a female and my ex done the ceiling and as I'm now needing tiles done I'm looking to see the best way to remove this as there doesn't seem to be alot of people that do this job and I'm looking to see what damages the removal will do so I can plan ahead to have those fixed thank you for your reply

Can I ask why they should need removing for tiling, I presume you mean tiling the walls

Yeah the edging where the pvc panels go into comes over the tiles that are on now and I believe the edging is screwed into top of tiles my house is council property and the tiles that are on are coming away from wall so the whole bathroom tiles need replacing

I would have thought it would be easier to cut around the top of the old tiles with an angle grinder and then remove what is below the cut. The corners could be made good once the new tiles are in place. Or are you saying the job is being done by the council and they say you need to take the cladding down.

The job is being done by the council they have informed me and they will be out to see me to give details and start date but as the ceiling panels sit over the tiles I'm sure there gonna want them removed

I did something similar last year., its possible.
I removed the edging strips very very carefully. Mine were just dabbed with silicon iirc.
Removed the tiling behind carefully with a multitool, hammer and chisel as to clear a suitable gap and not touch / damage the ceiling panels.
Retiled butting the new tile behind the ceiling plank facings.
Stuck a newer edging over the top once I'd grouted and cleaned up.
As good as it was originally fitted 10 years ago.
Not sure Council Contractors will be as careful BUT you could do it yourself to the stage of the new tiling. Best ask though.

Thank you, The ceiling has been up 8 years now and my edging Is like and n shape so the panel slides in but the back of the edging is screwed to the tiles so I don't think this will work I have priced people to remove it but they cannot guarantee the plaster won't come of underneath and if it does not sure what the council will do

I think I would wait and see what they say. Taking the cladding down willl make more work for them making good the ciling than leaving it in place and taking a bit more care.

But they will probably damage it cutting the tiles and that means I could never remove the ceiling as there would be a gap between the new tile and the broken old tiles they wouldn't be making the ceiling good anyway I would have to pay separately for that as its my ceiling that I paid to have put up so it's my responsibility but the tiles are theirs and they are coming away from wall which is why they need removed and replaced

The ceiling should not affect wall tiling .

The pvc edging is over the top if the tiles and screwed in to top of tiles I have some plastering company's coming to look at it they are willing to remove the pvc then skim over the ceiling underneath or worse case reboard and skim
