I have an alarm System utilising the Pyronix HomeControl2.0 App. The installer did not charge an annual fee for using the app, but the company has been sold and the new company owner wants to charge a fee. Is it possible to change an existing system to use a free app. If so, which apps are suitable. Is it difficult to do?
 
Firstly the first year is free.

Pyronix charge end users £36 a year for a basic connection.

We charge less than £36 a year as do some other installation companies.
You would have to transfer it to get a cheaper rate.

You don’t have to use the app to use the panel.
 
Hi, I’m just very disappointed and slightly miffed, for a couple of reasons:
1. The original installer didn’t tell us that the app required a subscription, or that it was free for the first year.
2. The new company does not seem interested in domestic installations, did not tell us that we would need to pay a subscription and just allowed the app to switch off without any communication with us. We don’t even know how much they want.
We only worked out why we couldn’t use the app, because we had the phone number, and were able to ask the original installation engineer who has now left the new company.
Perhaps you could let me know what you would charge per year and would changing involve a fee?
