quarry tiles

I have recently laid quarry tiles and my tiler sealed them twice [before grouting and after].I have since sealed them on two occasions with the same sealer [Lithofin slate seal]but it seems to wear off very quickly. This has happened in the last six months.They have got very dirty looking and mark easily.What have we done wrong?

Sounds like there's a touch to much moisture arising here, use waterproff pva, to seal them, a 4 to 1 mix will do it, when its dry, re seal with your slate seal
