Hey
Ive just moved into a new house and want to change the lock. Is this something i can easily do myself. I have been told i should be able to just unscrew the tunnel where the key goes in and replace that, but dont have any experience with this so was hoping someone could verify.

Hi

From the brief information on your message and the pictures, it seems you have a upvc or composite door.

There is no need to remove the handles, all you need to do is remove the screw just below the bolt in the centre lock mechanism, you will then need to turn the keyway approximately 5-10 degrees and whilst doing this try to pull the cylinder out of the door at the same time gently. This allows the operating cam in the cylinder to position itself centrally allowing it to be pull out the lock mechanism.

Once you have done this you are now able to put the new cylinder into your lock mechanism.

hope this helps
