My Potterton Puma has given me no end of gyp so I am thinking of going for a Worcester Greenstar 24i Junior for £1350 supply and install. Assuming it is the right boiler for my size flat, is that a good price??

bleedin brillaint price

does it include a powerflush?

is the installer competent and registered, and please god tell me it aint for "cash"

not that I can think of, great price though he must be passing on all his discount on to you, the plum

:)

Do I get no comeback if it's for cash? And do you mean corgi registered, and how can I tell if he is competent? He's done good work for me in the past. :?

if he has worked for in the past and your happy then job done

as for cash I would say that you would find it hard to find a person willing to commit a serious criminal act of fraud agains HMR&C to really give a monkeys about sorting out any problems for you after he has copped is dosh

other than that he does have to notify the boiler and the tax man can see this and you may get a knock on your door

It is probably a good idea, when fitting a new boiler to an old system that will contain old sediment, to have a Magnaclean or similar fitted too. That will trap any residual material and stop it from settling in your nice new boiler and clogging it.

Even a powerflush doesn't get everything out.
