I dunno, but I'm not convinced that she does.

For me Growth is something you get if you make an investent, with the expectation that you get a return, new resources, new opportunities for others' to benefit. Like 'doing up' a wreck of a house.
A primary effect of her measure looks to be to raise house prices across the board, while allowing a few people to take bigger risks in trying to afford one.
Maybe she thinks that'll get votes from th 16 year olds.

This is desperate stuff. What on earth is she thinking.
Labour also think by letting 16 year olds vote they will win the next election. I think its going to backfire on them as they are more likely to vote green and Reform than labour.
They wont vote labour as they will of had 4 years of granny telling them how labour took away their winter fuel allowance which is why their birthday and Christmas presents were crap this last 4 years and that you can not trust labour. Then it will be their parents telling them how they lost work because of the tax on employers.
They wont vote Conservatives -so that's the only thing labour will get out of it but the fight is not with conservatives - its with Reform.

I think she's simply, become backed into a corner.
No more taxes, strict fiscal rules.
But to grow you have to invest. She's lost out on their early bungled claims on WFA and PIP, and everything else is crying out for money.
She'll get a bit from not raising tax thresholds.
She may get less if she raises the base level a little but less than by wage inflation (5%, granuid) . I'd make the case for a small increase on NI - "to pay for the increasing demands on the NHS".

That’s not her goal. Her goal is to increase taxes, driving up prices achieves this.
