I've got a cast iron rad that is leaking so the suppliers are going to recondition it once removed. One end has a valve with a trickle filter so when I wind it in closed the pin doesn't close fully. Is there a trick or tool I can use to put on top of the pin so when I wind the TRV in is compresses the pin fully thus stopping the trickle of water?

Thanks

Did the trv come with a decorator cap? If so use that or get one. Don't rely on the trv head. If it is only slightly passing you could cap the outlet of the trv.
