I don't trust these autonomous systems, they never seem to work right. AI cannot replace proper interactive system management.

Especially not with two AA batteries…(that’s what they use).

I’m very tempted as I live with my elderly mother in reasonable sized house and it’s just the two of us and not all the rooms from loft to bedrooms get used…..

These are supposedly meant to simmer down room temperature where there is no or minimal usage of a room hence saving energy….

It made sense but very very unsure……

The thing about these systems is, how do they learn to do what it is they are designed to do ..... by learning from the habits and what the users does and then makes decisions or 'learns' from that.

All it take is a bit of work to establish proper patterns and then set normal controls to emulate that.

Also, how it tells how a room is used as it samples temp and light levels over a 24hr period and then applies an algorithm to that pattern, what happens when that pattern changes, how long does it take to react etc. There is boost function etc but then that kinda defeats the purpose.

Exactly what was going through my mind!

I guess they called radbots for a reason, they may lack change or flexibility in how they function - for example my mother tends to stay downstairs and goes to her room when it’s time for bed and not before, so that could mean her bedroom might be a little cold as she has not been in her room all day and therefore the radbots simmer down the temperature…

It’s confusing hence I was calling out all users and I’ve posted a thread on avforum as well but no takers….

I suppose the only thing I would add is as a professional doing this stuff day in day out you tend to hear the things that are taken up and used as a standard and we don't hear much about the things that tend to be more of a gimmick, which can be said about a lot of newer tech that hits the market. A lot of this stuff gets a lot of hype but then fades into obscurity whilst the tech that is really helpful does become standard.

Remote TRV's which this is kind of a part of, wasn't a thing 10 years ago, now it is becoming refined and has gone through it 'beta' stage and is now become more prevalent as it filled a space as smart tech has become mainstream.

That's why I find it's always best to wait until a 'new tech' product matures first before adopting otherwise it could just be a case of 'what a waste of money that was' especially @ £65 a pop at the mo.
