i recently bought a radiator key to bleed my radiator. As I was turning the screw the head of the screw snapped off. The rest of the screw seems still in place but I can not be sure.

How can I take out the remainder of the screw?

Can I still use the central heating system?

Will I need a plumber or is there a simpler way of addressing this problem?

No reason why you can't use the heating. If the bleed valve is open and losing water, then isolate that radiator by closing both valves.
Some radiators have a threaded hole at each corner. two of these are used for the pipes, One is used for the bleed valve and the other is blnked off with a blanking plug.
The blanking plug and bleed valve housing have a square hole for key.
If yours is this type then with the correct key it can be removed and replaced
