radiator height

does it affect the performance of the radiator the height its set off of floor level. what is the normal distance 150-200mm? many thanks

Technically it probably does a tiny bit, but not so you'd notice (unless it was actually at floor level). They're normally installed so the bottom of the rad is at the same height as the top of your skirting, so four to eight inches off the floor. I personally prefer six inches where there is no skirting.

many thanks. just another question, if 150mm is minimum is there a maximum height over which a rad will underperform. or does it not really matter?
 
You can put then where you like, 2feet up the wall if it floats your boat, and it will work just fine.

The best position for looks only is 25mm above the skirting.
