Radiator noises

Sometimes, when the central heating starts up, there is a noise coming from the radiators which sounds as if there were small nails or similar rattling around . This only lasts for a few seconds, presumably when the pump starts up. It happens more early in the morning when the house is warming up. There are no unusual noises coming from the boiler.

Any suggestions what is causing this and solutions?
