I live in a semi-detached house with a coal fire and back-boiler which feeds 6 radiators in the house. The system has a pump and the radiators are all old style single plate with no TRV, just an on off valve, so unfortunately the heat is either on or off. Have been living in the house for 2 years but last night all of a sudden the living room radiator started to vibrate. There was also a lot of water coming out the overflow which makes me think the system was over-pressured?! Was looking to see if anyone had any advice on what the cause could be. I find it weird how its only started now and no other symptoms in the last 2 years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is venting over because you are putting to much heat into the system, and not enough out of it ,
Check the pump is running!!! Check the on off valve is open and vent the rads.

Ok thanks a lot, will just not put so much through the back boiler.

Thanks once again.
