I have recently had a new valiant combi boiler & all new rads through out the house 3 months ago

I now have a smell coming from one side of the rad in a bedroom like egg/coppery smell what could this be ?

I also am started to get circle shape looking like riverts appear in between the groves on face of radiators ( not sure if relevant ) but was not there before also there are more visible in some places then others

I have bled the system / refilled and put inhibitor in 7 days aga but still the smell is present and cirles on rads still present

Kind at a stand still rang the installer back he said didnt have a clue ?

Any ideas ?

The circle shapes are simply the spot welds holding the two sides of the radiator together. They will have been there from new and I guess you've only just noticed them because you've been studying the radiator closely because of the smell

If the smell is really coming from the radiator, there are only two causes I can think of: (1) the radiator has a pinhole leak and you're smelling the radiator water which may have corrosion gases in it (methane), (2) something has been spilled down the back of the radiator and is slowly being cooked by the heat.

Have you been in contact with the original installers? As above, anything on or near the radiator that the smell could be emanating from?

Hi all there is no pressure leak on the boiler still at the same bar

And it only smells when the heating is on
I have checked the pipes leading to the rad no visible leaks

There is nothing behind the rad or nothing been spilled on it

Original installer said they have no idea this is was and over the phone conversation as i will be getting them back out if i can not solve my self

Any other ideas ?

Well, if there are no leaks from the radiator and nothing has been spilled on it, and the smell only occurs when the radiator is hot, it must be the paint or coating on the radiator that is smelling. It can't be anything else.
Is the radiator new or have you recently painted it?
