Radiator valves.......

hello lads (and lasses)

am looking to change both the inlet/outlet valves on a radiator at home as i have damaged them trying to get them to shut off while trying to remove the radiator. what do i need to do to ensure i do not have a water emergency when removing the current valve from the pipework to replace it?

any info appreciated.

all the valves are aging so if ive got it drained i might do them all.

sounds good to me think of trvs whilst your at it will give you some control
