hi all having heating problems. my old system is playing up,making banging noises and radiators going cold . i have cover from the gas board, they came out and told me the system is completely blocked. they said they could pressure clean it for £600 but the fault would probably come back as i have old style radiators and microbore pipes. they did say i could try it myself. i want to try flushing it myself. i have been under the floor to find the drain to my horror its right under my hut, so i cant get to it. can i drain system from lowest radiator. after that i need help from you guys. i looked at boiler cant see a make or number . it sits in kitchen by itself. in loft there are two tanks a large and small both plastic, there is also a lagged tank in airing cupboard. any help, advice would be great thanks. where do i start ! .

first, microbore is likely to have limited results powerflushing.
second, IF it is clean, it will stay clean whether it is old or new; typical ****ish gas cop-out.
you can try it yourself with chemicals; search the forum on the how and what.
if it does not work with chemicals, i would recommend repiping in stead of powerflushing, and take the rads outside and clean them that way.
