Hi all,
Apologies in advance for my small and potentially wrong plumbing understanding ...
My heating system has always been decent but recently the radiators do not turn off when the thermostat (Drayton RTS1) clicks. Even when it's set to 10c I can hear the pump upstairs and water flowing thro' the rads. The thermostat is definitely working as I've managed to swap that like for like from B+Q. The water is hot as are the rads (so at least it works) and the only way to control the rads and pump is by switching off the hot water and heating on the control unit. I've just tried with the hot water on and the heating off and the radiators are heating up ...
I'm guessing my 2 way motorised valve is knackered as I'm pretty sure the 2 way motorised valve has moving parts and you can hear it when it's opening/closing? - I've watched mine and it ain't doing squat and the lever seems to be loose and unwilling to move ...
I have a boiler in kitchen Potterton Prima F next to the Lifestyle control unit, a Drayton RTS1 thermostat and upstairs a lagged hot water tank, the pump and a 2 way motorised valve.
Reckon I'll need a professional to sort this out, but any advice you chaps can offer would be kindly received with eternal thanks and maybe postal alcohol as my missus is due for our first anytime in the next 2 weeks ...
Cheers
