Hi guys - really hoping you can help. I've just moved into a new house and out of the blue all the downstairs radiators stopped working and now the upstairs radiators are the same.

The pump and the pipes around it are extremely hot and i'm getting hot water through the taps OK

If anyone can give me a little 'simple' troubleshooting help I would really appreciate it

Thank you all

From your brief description of what type or boiler/system you have i would suggest the pump has failed and is not circulating water around the system.

Hw may be heating via convection

Thanks guys

I did a little looking at other posts and removed the screw from the centre of the pump and tried to see if I got any movement, to be honest I wasn't too sure but felt something move. I switched the system back on and definitely felt the pump engage and 'hum'.

There is a lot of heat in the pipes both sides of the pump but nothing at all in the radiators either upstairs or downstairs

The pump is "Grundfos"

A 'spinning' pump does not means the circulator is working.

Remove head and ensure impellor is not detatched

David
