i have a worcester 280 rsf combi & the radiators are too hot to touch when the heating is on & i have to reset it at least once a day, probably due to it over heating, recently it has had a new pump & expansion vessel fitted could a sensor of some sort be the problem?

It sounds as if the heating sensor is out of tolerance.
A Worcester MI that I was looking at yesterday gave the resistance as between 390 and 33k ohms. Thats not much use!
I think that they are about 25k at room temperature!
