we are doing a rennovation on an old stone house with bit felt /sarking and slate roof.
Have put insuation between rafters and now have so much condensation that it is like a frozen sheet of ice on the inside of the sarking!
we are putting in slate vents at present.
the inside walls below rafters and insulation are not closed up and plastered yet - so not a good cold through draft yet. No heating in house yet either - yikes ( -8 outside).
My question is should I get a dehumifidier into that room to try and clear the excess moisture from room and rafter space before we seal walls up inside. Or should we seal it up and let the ventilation hopefully deal with the excess moisture build up.
Will adding heat to that room before it is sealed up help or make it worse - causing more warm air to drift up rafter space.
