Guess I could get a pressure tester - they don't cost much.
Very useful things. They all have 3/4 F bsp tap connector fitting so get an adapter to 1/2" , + maybe a clamp on tap nozzle fittingto keep with it.
I seems the acceptability of combi-fed 305mm heads is a matter of opinion. It's not for me, or a couple of prospective users - but that's only 3 people.
Think of a hotel-standard shower. Anyone who's ever tried one will remember. That's what people not making excuses, can judge by. Those feel great when they're squirting a few gallons a minute of water at you at high velocity.
Do you judge shower sensation while thinking, "Remember it's
only a combi"?!
Smaller head for me is ok with a combi, bigger is not. I had a house whiere we switched to a 36kW Vaillant where there had been a large head. An old boiler, store and pump had been used before, which was vastly better. The user wanted a smaller head for the combi. That head I have somewhere, a 6" Raindance iirc, was rejected too.
I remember one in a posh place in Dubai which was 2 foot square or something. Remarkable - the thought there was that
that had all come through a desalination plant.
A mountain cascade in the top end of Oz was memorable too. Pressure practically zero because it was just spilling over a ledge, but the flow I couldn't even guess at. Maybe 4 bathfuls a minute?
