Hi,

I have recently moved to a new house, and due to the lack of space in the house I wish to use the old wash house/ shed in the yard as a utility room, containing a washing machine. Initially I was going to cut a channel through the concrete yard so that I could sink a 40mm waste pipe leading to a gutter next to the house.
I have now realised that I also need to divert the run off from the outbuildings roof guttering to a drain and am considering making a square brick drain (not sure of the technical term!) leading through a pipe under the yard and flowing into the existing drain by the house.
Is this a feasible idea? What type/diameter of pipe should I use? Any tips?
Many thanks for any help/ideas :)
