Raising floor level

Hello,

I'm building an outhouse - need to raise the floor level of the outhouse around 50cm to get it level with the rest of the garden; just wanted to check what is the best way of doing this?

I read that I can just put in lots of MOT Type-1 but i think that might work out quite expensive. Another alternative i was looking at is maybe a suspended timber floor using 9x2s?

The walls have already been built (brick on outside and thermalite block on the inner-wall) and a 100mm dpc layer put in the walls.

A suspended timber floor could possibly end up as a more economic solution, not to mention a saving in hours of moving T1 from a pile into a void + vibration consolidation of the T1

All depends on the span you have and that the floor joists will be adequate, on that front. you could consider casting concrete pads to support brick piers that in turn could support a central [along the long axis] of the span a secondary timber beam that will take a lot of the deflection out of the main floor joists and hence reduce the cost of same?

Introducing Insulation into the overall floor build up is also to be considered as well as external air bricks to vent the under floor void.
