In order to obtain an improved flowrate to his shower a friend of mine had a pump installed a while back. This has proven to be pretty troublesome due to the nature of the installation. How difficult is it to actually raise the CW cistern in the attic by half a metre so? Also would this make much improvement? Perhaps this is more a building issue? Thanks for any advice in anycase.

It's not too difficult if you can build a structure strong enough and are ok replumbing it. For half a metre, I doubt that it's worth the effort.

For information, 10m head per 1 bar of pressure.

What's the problem with fitting a pump?

There is a pump fitted currently and it is p¡sspoor. It has been tee’d off from the existing supplies. To rectify this and provide dedicated pipework to the pump would entail a lot of disruption to the property.

Thanks for your help though, guys.
