So its not quality of covering just consistency of colour match? Is it because they offer a wider range of colours. How much more would you expect to pay For a RAL colour against alternatives.
If you are saying a company will produce windows in standard range of colours for ££ yet if you want a particular RAL colour they charge £££ this is because they have to make up the colour specifically for your order so it costs more.
RAL is just a system for determining a particular colour. There are about 2,000 RAL colours although most window companies will likely only offer one from the standard RAL colour range which is a lot less but usually still a wide range.
Its not a specific special colour just matt black. TBH I was after a specific finish i'e a brushed matt black,. It was the colour of a Bentley that was in the queue of valet parking on the Top gear India Special. It was noticed as a nice colour by the short guy who was doing the valet parking.(Forgot his name)
Where I worked we supplied items powder coated in RAL and used 3 basic colours. Even then a box of powder was not cheap.
When we were requested a specific colour it sometimes had to be made or imported and took the price to over £200 a box, saying that a box went a long way, so we offered a deal if we could keep it. If not they paid the full price and we gave the left overs to them too.
