Our Cat recently died and now the rats are spreading into the garden. No doubt they were there already but Max kept them at bay.
For various reasons we are not taking on another cat and so we wondered if electronic noise generators are effective in dispersing vermin.
Not keen on the use of rat poison but may have to resort to it.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Chaotic.

Make sure there is no obvious food source the rats are after, then put down bait. I know it is not nice but it is the only way we have been able to get rid of them!

two things that attract them:

water

a rat-food table where people put out food for the rats (sometimes birds come along in daylight to steal some of it and throw some off the table onto the ground, but rats can climb onto tables anyway)

A typical rat-food dispenser
