Hi,

Got a small problem here - We have installed a new heating system (new boiler, new radiators with thermostatic valves & new pipes.
When the radiators are hot and we turn the valves down, then an awful rattling noise is starting. one of the other radiators need to be adjusted (either up or down) to stop the noise.

what do you think could cause that? the valves? what if changing them doesnt resolve the problem?

Cheers

A Biasi riva compact HE - M96...

It's a combi-boiler and theres 6 radiators.
Not sure what you mean by system?

You answered the question ok. As previously stated, it could be that if you have trv's on all the rads, which you shouldn't, then your installer should have fitted an auto bypass valve.

The rattling you hear could be that when all the valves shut the pump has nowhere to pump

You should have had trv's fitted to all rads except the one in the room that the room stat is fitted.

That riva im sure as an integral bypass anyway.as suggested tho you should not have a trv in the same room as the room stat as part on the energy efficiency regs, part L.does sound like the pump is pumping with nowhere to go.?
