Hi I have recently installed a ratwall.

So far it seems to have stopped the ingress of rats for which we were having problems.

The valve is sitting well however there is 4-5mm gap on the side of the wall installation as per pictures.

Is this gap small enough to stop rats getting by?

Does this gap need sealing or not significant ? Thanks

Thank you

Omar

I honestly don't know but apparently rats love to make small holes bigger?
For the sake of a cup full of mortar, or even a stainless steel pot scourer and mortar, I'd seal the gap

Thanks good advice rather then mortar which might lock the device in. Any suggestions for waterproof materials to fill the gap?? Wood stainless steel rat wool work? Or would it rust?

Thanks

Hi have checked with ratwall supplier and they have said the gap is too small.
They have advised that rats need at least 2 cm to get through and this is consistent with pest control advice as well.

They have also commented about the risk of blocking the valve in if you cement it so going to leave for now. Thanks for the helpful advice though
