i have a ravenheat boiler and there seems to be one problem after the other. About 9 months ago i had the pump changed. A week ago there was no hot water or heating. I looked at the boiler and the pressure had dropped to 0. i filled the up the boiler and the hot water worked again but no heating. i have a thermostat in the living room that turn the heat on and off. what could it be? my plumber thinks its either the diverter valve or the fuse or both? the yellow pilot light isn't working isn't working either

i am wondering whether to get rid of it and install a new glow worm flexicom instead as i am worried i'll keep having to repair it.

any advice is welcome
thanks

I expect you have a Raven 820 !

If you cannot get the model correct then its not surprising you dont bother to top up the pressure!

Just as a car will not work without water in the rad a boiler will not work without about 1.5 bar pressure in it.

You talk about a "plumber" ! I appreciate as a plumber he is not a registered gas engineer, but he is clearly a nupty with no ability to diagnose even the simplest boiler fault on a very basic boiler.

Presumably you only want to pay a sub-standard "plumber" but if you honestly want to get it fixed you may have to realise that you will ned to pay a boiler expert.

I wonder if you are the same Elias I spoke to on Thursday? He was going to call me back but never did and perhaps our fixed price diagnostic fee was too much for him?
