Ravenheat CSI 85 DWH Hot then shuts off....

I know they are crap but.......replacing it at this time is not an option.
The CH works fine, the hot water comes on ok but then cuts out.

The diverter valve looks ok..... is it a case of replacing the heat exchanger? I do live in a hard water area so wondering if it could simply be lime scale.

Any other help or advice would be great
