Hi, can anyone recommend aan engineer who can fix my ravenheat combi? I've already had two guys out who spent an hour looking at it and made no difference at all, a complete waste of money! So now I'm trying to find someone that actually knows what they're doing. I live in North Essex, nr Saffron Walden. Thanks.

Why not say what seems to be the problem and we'll tell you what the likely fault is and the likely repair bill.

Post the problem.
Most boilers work in similar ways.
If they couldn't fix the ravenheat then it's unlikely they
would be able to fix any boiler.

Did they not think to ring up Ravenheat tech support for help even?

Thanks - the problem is that when you turn on the hot water tap, you get hot water, and enough to fill a sink for washing up etc., but if you run a bath the water gets hot and cold intermittently to the point where the bath is too cold to get into. Boiler is approx 4yrs old and we've had a new diverter valve (to try to solve this problem) but that made absolutely no difference and would like to get it working properly for winter. Heating works fine, luckily, any ideas appreciated.

Thanks again.

No, they took the manual away and I haven't seen them since!

What idiot told you it was the diverter valve?

I agree it's the plate heat exchanger partially blocked.

Sorry forgot to mention, he took that plate heat exchanger out and 'power flushed' it, re-installed and it made no difference.

The plates in a heat exchanger are very close together so debris won't necessarily be washed out with a power flush (as it would be washed out in every day use). Better trying a chemical flush to dissolve lime-scale. Or simply get one off Ebay and switch them. They are not a gas part so you can do it yourself.

Thanks Joe, could you point me in the right (ebay) direction please?

Someone who knew what they were talking about would advice you that you can diagnose a faulty plate heat exchanger by a carrying out a few simple tests before buying expensive parts off ebay.
