Anyone checked the thermistor on the appliance?

Very easy, with a multimeter. But surely these chaps you had out tested everything? Or are they just 'parts changers'?
A simple Ohms test would confirm the thermistor is A1.
Thanks to all but can anyone recommend someone that can do this for me? I'm sure I'm capable with the right instructions but don't really have the time right now...any ideas??

You quote your location as "Essex". Now that is a large county!
It extends from Clacton where my aged aunts used to live, to Wanstead which is in Greater London and also in Essex where I often go to fix boilers and other fun jobs.
If you want suggestions then you need to be more specific about where you are.
