white star , approx 4yr old.No hot water because boiler fires for 30 sec and then off for 30 sec and so on.Same on heating but eventually heating gets up to temp.Is muck the only problem or could it be ignition control.

If its the same thing on hot water and heating then its more likely to be an ignition problem if its for exactly the same length of time.

If its different or varies then it could also be a hydraulic problem.

Probably will need a competent CORGi to diagnose.

If it is like other Ravenheats, try changing the ch thermistor if it does it on CH & HW.

can you switch the leads on these to test or do they work in parrallel. im going out to look on tuesday.

Most Ravens are 25K thermistors.
20kOhm - 500 Ohm according to ravenheat.
For testing only you can try swapping the thermistor leads over.

A CH thermistor is always a good starting point for any Ravenheat with the green wet pocket type 0007TER05005/0

Earlier models will run without the HW sensor connected. On later ones both the sensors are checked before the boiler will fire.
