rawl plugs and wall fixings

I've used wedges , toothpicks and resins in my time but I'm surprised no one has yet suggested that if a hole fails just drill another one :)

I use cocktail sticks, break them in half and then they can be inserted until the hole is full, finally tapping the last bits in with a hammer.

Sometimes I prefer this to rawlplugs and having to wait for nonails to dry.

I always use cocktail sticks and pack it out .....excellent results

Why? It will not be where you wanted it, or why drill it there in the first place.

To be fair in most cases if a fixing fails then putting in another a couple of inches to the side will do the job , it just leaves another hole to be filled and overpainted.
