Couple of questions on RCD's:

1) Could someone direct me to a diagram showing an industry-standard wiring layout for an RCD-and-MCB protected ring sockets circuit. layout - not schematic!

2) I have a house with 2 internal ring socket circuits + lights and one outside circuit for a garage/workshed. Am I right in thinking that nothing inside the house requires RCD protection, but the garage/shed does?

wrong. if something can bet plugged in and taken outside it should be RCD protected. i.e all downstairs sockets, since u can just plug an extension lead in. lights arent normally RCD protected, unless on a TT supply

What do you mean by a layout not a schematic?
