Hi, We have light coloured ceramic Tiles with a light coloured grout that has been stained. I am looking at scraping out the top of the grout and re-grouting over the existing grout with the correct colour. Has anyone out there had to do this and is it ok to regrout over some existing grout???

Hi, you can buy a grout racker which is used by hand and is time comsuming but will do the trick. There are electric tools on the market for this as well, but unless your doing all the time I'd stick to the racker.

Make sure you go down a good way as you don't want the old grout to show, and don't let the racker slip onto the tile or sides as it can take the glaze off. In other works, nice and slow. If any grout is left on the sides of the tiles, just use a stanley blade cutter to scrape off.

All the best, Simon.

have a go with a solution of bleach first you may get it back to the right colour if its just dirty, however some grout discolours over time.
