Re-plastering a wall that's still damp

Hi. We stripped back old plaster to the brick and found rising damp on an outside wall. The cause has now been sorted. My instinct is that we should let it dry out before re-plastering but I want to get on with the job. Is using a damp seal product for the internal wall recommended? Thanks.
