Hello!

I've started to rake out old lime mortar from our cottage to a depth of around 20mm (mortar width x 2 ?). I'd planned to do all the raking-out, cleaning up etc. on all four walls of the house and then set about putting the lime mortar back in.

My question is....if I take out 20mm of mortar across the entire building will this have any structural effect on the remaining brickwork? i.e; will the house fall down? ;-)

Thanks,

Steve
