Hi,

We are having to re-point our 1980s house brick walls below the dpc as they have become eroded; up to a couple of feet deep / exposed at the rear of the property.

To match the existing colour we are having to buy the sand and cement rather than the ready mixed products which are too dark.

Though the DIYnot How to... says used Hydrated Lime in the mix , a lot of others say use an Ad Mixtures like Cementones Mortar Plasticiser.

Is there any real difference between the two ? or is Lime still the better one to use ?
