Hi, perhaps someone could give me a steer!

I have a couple of wood saws that need re-sharpening, I sure you can get a 'saw set' but have not seen one for years, are they still available and is it worth it.

They are not the most expensive ones but its a shame to just through them away!

Any help would be appreciated tools required etc.

If they are the modern "hardpoint" or "jetcut" saws then they are not sharpenable. If it is a traditional saw then it can be done. Look in yellow pages under saw doctors or saw sharpening. Most good tool shops will have a saw sharpening service.

You can still buy saw sets and the correct files but it takes a lot of practice to get it right and the tools will cost more than sending the saws to be done.
