Re-use old taps - standard sizes?

Hi all
Im refurbishing my bathroom. I think it was last done in the 90's. Whoever did it put in some nice old bath and sink taps which Id like to re-use. Do taps come in a standard sizes? How would I know if they 'work'? (theyve already been disconnected).

Pretty much, certainly in thread diameter.

You'd have to connect them up to be sure.

If they worked before disconnection they will work after re connection.if you never had the chance to see them working before disconnection , and you have an outside garden tap ,connect tap to garden tap with flexi hoses and try them out. If no outside tap connect direct to supply pipe with flexi hose and try out over a bucket.
