reccs for wired doorbell kit?

hi,

I'd like recommendations from you for wired doorbell kits.
We replaced our old wired bell with a wireless kit but, to be frank, it is useless - we constantly need to 're-boot' the plug-in chime and the rubber push-button keeps getting stuck!

So back to old fashioned wired doorbells for me.

Happy to have battery operated chime.
Our only criteria is that the chime and doorbell are not 'cheap' looking and that the chime itself is pretty loud (another prob with our exsiitng chime is tah we cannot hear it when upstiars!).

any ideas? even if its reccs for separate bell and chime - as long as I know what to buy and that they are compatible.

You can run one on batteries, or two using a transformer. Wire and transformer on that page. If using a transformer you would also need some mains rated cable, fused plug or FCU with 3A fuse, cable clips etc.

Plain ding-dong (battery operated) is fine.

Are all push buttons pretty much the same?
