Can someone recommend a pocket door system that they have actually used? Is there much difference between the different ones on the market?

If the plasterboard wall the pocket door is going into, separates a kitchen and a utility room, should I be concerned about the kitchen cupboards etc being hung on that wall and any mechanical issues that might arise in the future? I guess what I am asking is whether the pocket door wall should not have any weight loading screwed into that area where the pocket door slides into.

And finally, if I went for a regular door, is it possible to get a hinge that will allow the door to open almost 180 degrees so that it stays open flat against the wall (165 degrees maybe)?

Thx.

No idea with your pocket door. Opening door to 180 degrees- Parliament hinges are what you want

I'm in the process of getting a Portman FD30 fire rated pocket door installed - though i've placed it next to an existing brick wall. So far seems to be going well...Using it to seperate out between living/dinning/kitchen and hallway/staircase etc.
