I'm about to replace a Grundfos Mq3-45 pump. What do I do with the old one? Do people buy them for parts? Can they be recylced?
Thanks.

I think your local plumber will be only too happy to take off your hands and recycle it in an environmentally friendly manner.

As he will with any leftover copper or brass. :D

Well, this is indeed what I'm thinking....is there a recycling industry for such machinery? I can't imagine all the machines that die...they must be good for something? Do people refurbish them? Must be, but in USA most people just like to throw stuff away.....SO wasteful!

There are companies here in the UK, but as you're in the states, and this is a UK site, we are not best placed to ask.

Google. Something like "motor rewinding" or "pump overhaul ".
