About to do a my first flush of a the coolant (more ford KA tinkering).

Finally replacing the heater control valve and thought I should do a full flush at the same time, as well as popping in a new thermostat.

I know it requires red OAT type coolant, but I was wondering how specific do I need to be.

Is just any generic red OAT coolant fine?

Or, as per the manual, should I look for ones that specifically adhere to ford wss-m97b44-d.

I can get a semi-decent deal on comma and that specifically mentions that specification along with VW-TL774D

Then there is carplan premium red which is cheaper, and does not mention the ford spec, but does mention the same VW-TL774D.
(in fact, their marketing blurb only really mentions VW)

In addition, I am also flushing it through with some prestone coolant flush beforehand. I assume there should be no problem with that.

But as ever, I always find it useful to check things here.

Appreciate any advice!

Go for the generic 5 year red solution and all will be just fine. Flush if you like, I guess it depends on how much rust comes out!
