Within my airing cupboard there are 3 red-handled taps on the pipes, 2 which look like they are on pipes leading into the loft, and one on a pipe at the bottom of the boiler.

What are each of these for?

How open should each one be?

I think my system is a low pressure one, there is a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard and a plastic tank in the loft.

Thanks.

ok the two into the loft sound like hot and cold feed supplies why dont you turn them off and see what happens.

the other one i am reluctant to suggest anything is your boiler in your cylinder cuboard by the way?

if its on the ch system it could be a bypass which means it has been set up and does not need playing with. I cant see it

as a general rule I open a valve fully then turn back one revolution this goes for you mains water stop valve also.
