Red mastic

just want to know what is best to repoint a wall with Red mastic or mortar and what are the advantages of mastic over mortar. thanks

I have never seen a wall pointed with mastic!! go with the 1000 yrs plus tried and tested method.
Masitc is for sealing/sticking frames to brick/block work.
