i need to make a gate for the side of my house. i popped into the local timber store and asked what wood would be suitable he said thye got some redwood for £1.80 a meter. he said it should be fairly straight but they hads to order it in if i wanted it. size was i think 22 x 150mm or near that. I want 6 panels to make up 900mm then do the double z on the back. What exactly is this red wood is it a pine wood? Will it have a smoothish finished or really rough, he did say it would be pre treated. thanks
